John was a stalwart at DAV and someone who embodied our mission of service and compassion for America’s veterans. He leaves a lasting legacy in numerous ways and will be deeply missed.
Jim Sursely Memorial
It is with profound sorrow that I bring you the news of the passing of Jim Sursely, DAV’s Past National Commander. PNC Sursely was a combat-disabled veteran of the Vietnam War and was elected national commander of DAV at the organization’s national convention in Reno, Nevada, in 2004. In 2015, Sursely was elected to the board of directors of the Disabled Veterans’ Life Memorial Foundation.
