If you don’t pre-register online in advance of race day, you can register on-site on race morning. We are a CASHLESS event. Bring your phone to scan a QR code and register on your own device. Volunteers will be able to assist you, if needed.
How much does registration cost, and what do I get for the price?
Early bird rates run July 1–Aug. 31: $25 for Adults and $15 for Youth. This price includes your DAV 5K shirt, bib and medal.
General registration rates run Sept. 1–Nov. 6: $30 for Adults and $20 for Youth. This price includes your DAV 5K shirt, bib and medal.
Race Day rates run Nov. 7–9: $50 for Adults and $25 for Youth. This price includes your DAV 5K shirt, bib and medal.
If I'm a veteran or am currently serving, what benefits can I receive?
In recognition of your service, free veteran registration is available. This registration receives a race bib and medal.
VIP Veteran registration is $20 until November 6. From November 7–9 it is $25. Registration includes a special veteran DAV 5K shirt, bib and medal.
I registered for the DAV 5K last year. How do I bring back my information?
Your information from 2023 will be stored in the system. Use your login and password to register for 2024.
My company/employer would like to pay for multiple registration fees. Is this possible?
Absolutely! A DAV 5K team member can set up a discount code that your organization’s employees/colleagues can use to waive all or part of a registration fee. DAV will send an invoice to your employer for the registrations. Contact dav5k@dav.org or 859-442-3440.
Can I register at the event?
Yes! Race day registration will begin at 7 a.m. Our event is CASHLESS. Please arrive early to avoid the lines.
Why does my bank account have pending charges to DAV?
If the “complete registration” or “donate” button was clicked more than once while making a payment, your account may have pending charges. However, only one charge will actually be processed and the remaining charges will be dropped. It takes some banks up to three days to remove incorrect pending charges. If you have a question about a charge, please contact your bank. They’ll be better able assist you with your account. If more than one charge was fully processed, please contact us at dav5k@dav.org or 859-442-3440 and we’ll be happy to refund you for incorrect charges.
Can I get a refund for my registration fee(s)?
Registrations are non-refundable.
VIRTUAL PARTICIPATION
How can I participate virtually?
If you want to show your support for veterans but you’re not able to join us in Cincinnati, you can participate in the DAV 5K virtually from anywhere you choose! Join your friends and family and show your support by doing a run, walk, roll or ride from any location Veterans Day Weekend, Nov. 8–11. REGISTER HERE
TEAMS
I registered as an individual but want to join a team. What should I do?
After registering, click the lock icon on the top right of our homepage, dav5k.org, to log in to your account. You’ll be able to change your team affiliation in the settings of your fundraising portal. If you need assistance, please contact us at dav5k@dav.org.
How is a team page different than an individual fundraising page?
As a team captain, you'll have access to a team page and an individual fundraising page. Your team page allows people to see your team name, team fundraising goal, team information and team members. Use your individual fundraising page to recruit donations. Your fundraising efforts will count towards your overall team fundraising goal.
My company/employer would like to form a Corporate Team and pay the registration fees. Is this possible?

Can my team earn fundraising prizes?
The top fundraising team will receive special recognition, however our fundraising program is for individual fundraisers only. As you reach fundraising milestones throughout the season, you’ll earn different prizes. CLICK HERE to see details on the 2024 Fundraising Program.
Can I create a team comprised of Cincinnati and Virtual Participants?
Yes! We encourage the team captain to register and recruit team members anywhere! The team captain can pick up the race packets of all virtual participants on their team at packet pickup, and personally mail them to their team members addresses.
DONATIONS
Can I send my donation through the mail?
Yes, however we don’t recommend sending cash in the mail. Please mail checks to DAV National Headquarters, 860 Dolwick Drive, Erlanger, KY 41018, ATTN: DAV 5K Remittance Processing. Be sure to note the participant name and DAV 5K Cincinnati on the memo field.
I mailed a donation but don’t see it on my donor list.
Please allow up to three weeks for donations to be processed.
How do I make a donation to a specific participant or team?
Visit dav5k.org and click on the red donate button. On the donation page, search for the name of the participant. Click on the red donate button when prompted and complete the remaining steps to make your donation.
Where does the money go?
Funds raised through the DAV 5K support DAV’s (Disabled American Veterans) mission of fulfilling our promises to the men and women who served. Just as America’s service members fought for us, DAV fights for them. DAV assists veterans by helping them gain access to the medical, financial and educational benefits they’ve earned along with connecting them to meaningful employment opportunities. How can I see who has donated to my DAV 5K donation page?
Visit dav5k.org and sign in to your account by clicking the lock icon on the top right of the page. Once you’re logged in, click the dashboard button at the top of your screen to view all your donors.
What should I do if someone gives me a cash or check in person?
Please complete this form and mail donations to DAV National Headquarters at 860 Dolwick Drive, Erlanger, KY 41018, ATTN: Remittance Processing/DAV 5K. Make checks payable to DAV (Disabled American Veterans). In order to ensure you receive credit for the donation, please note DAV 5K Fundraiser and your fundraising page name in the memo field of the check. We will accept cash donations but we highly discourage sending cash in the mail.
FUNDRAISING
Is there a fundraising minimum to participate in this event?
There is no fundraising minimum to participate, but the purpose is to support a critical mission that serves our heroes! We encourage all participants to reach out to family and friends and encourage them to support the event.
Funds raised through the DAV 5K will help our nation’s veterans gain access to the medical, financial and educational benefits they’ve earned and connect them to meaningful employment opportunities to help them live the fulfilling lives they deserve.
Does my registration fee count towards my fundraising total?
No, for tax reasons the registration fee is not included in your fundraising amount. Only donations made by you or made on your behalf are included in this total. If your plans change and you cannot attend the event, your registration fee cannot be changed to be counted as a donation.
What should I do if someone gives me cash or check in person?
Please mail donations to DAV National Headquarters, 860 Dolwick Drive, Erlanger, KY 41018, ATTN: Remittance Processing DAV 5K. To ensure you receive credit for the donation, please note DAV 5K Cincinnati and the participant’s name in the memo field of the check. Onsite event will be CASHLESS.
Can I combine my fundraising dollars with another participant to qualify for fundraising prizes?
No, the fundraising program is only for individual fundraising efforts, and you cannot combine your progress with that of a family member or team member.
Is there a fundraising deadline?
All donations must be received by Nov. 30, 2024, to qualify for fundraising prizes. Prizes will be mailed to qualifying participants in December.
DAV 5K CINCINNATI

My plans changed and I can't make it to the race. Can you mail my shirt?
We’re unable to mail your race shirt if you don’t attend the race. If you know ahead of time that you’re unable to come on race day, we recommend asking a friend to pick up the shirt during Packet Pickup.
How long is the course?
The DAV 5K is five kilometers (3.1 miles). We also have a 1-mile option.
Can I participate with a stroller?
Yes! This event is for all ages. Children age five and under don’t need to be registered to ride in a stroller.
Are bicycles permitted?
No. For safety reasons, we don’t permit bicycles on the race course. You may participate with a handcycle or wheelchair. Please indicate when prompted during the registration process.
Can my dog participate?
Only service dogs on leashes are welcome to participate in the DAV 5K.
What happens if it rains on race day?
We’ll hold the event in rain, snow or shine!
How is the data provided used?
We use your data for event analytics and for future event related messaging.
When will I receive my early bird registration gifts?
Thank you for registering early! All early bird gifts will be mailed to qualifying participants to the home address on record for registration in late September.
Can I opt-out of receiving promotion items or gifts for registration?
Yes. You have the option to opt-out of receiving any promotional gifts for your event registration and fundraising for DAV. Just check the box to opt-out during your event registration. If you already registered and aren’t sure if you opted out, email dav5k@dav.org or call 859-442-3440.
